We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our residential services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for young people, helping them to achieve their goals and develop essential life skills.

Job Description

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of youth work principles and practices. You will work closely with a small team to provide 24/7 support to young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized plans to support young people's goals and aspirations
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to young people, promoting healthy relationships and decision-making skills
  • Facilitating activities and programs that promote socialization, education, and personal development
  • Collaborating with other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for young people
  • Reporting incidents and contributing to the development of policies and procedures

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with young people in a residential setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current First Aid certification and willingness to obtain other relevant qualifications

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $47,000 per annum, plus superannuation and benefits package. Salary packaging options are available to reduce your taxable income.

Location

This role is based in South Hedland, Western Australia, and requires a valid C-class driver's license. We offer a generous relocation allowance to support your move to the region.
