We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Youth Development Support Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people, while gaining valuable skills and experience.

About the Role:

As a Youth Development Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily lives of children and young people in care. You will work closely with our experienced team to develop and implement personalized plans that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily routines and activities, such as meal preparation and hygiene
  • Plan and attend activities to promote life skills and personal growth
  • Offer trauma-informed care and support to manage challenging behaviors
  • Assess individual needs and develop personalized plans
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment at all times
  • Develop social and living skills to facilitate effective transition into the community

About You:

We are looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable, and open to learning. You will be working with children and young people displaying complex and challenging behaviors, so it's essential to have strong rapport-building skills and remain non-judgmental. You should also possess resilience and good professional boundaries.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with young people or transferable skills from a related field
  • South Australian Driver's Licence P2 or above
  • South Australian Working with Children Check
  • First Aid certificate - HLTAID012 - Provide Emergency First Aid in an Education Setting
  • Complete an 8-week full-time induction program

Location:

This role is based in Port Pirie, Port Augusta, or Whyalla, offering a great opportunity to relocate to one of our regional locations. Our residential care properties do not close, and shifts rotate to include AM, PM, and active night shifts, with varying start and finish times.
