About the Role

The Salvation Army is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Outreach Worker to join our team in Port Augusta. As an Outreach Worker, you will play a vital role in providing outreach patrol and service delivery through the Port Augusta Youth Safe Transport Service (PAYSTS) program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe transportation of youth and children to a place of safety between 7pm and 10pm on weekdays and 6pm and 2am on weekends.
  • Establish relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation.
  • Assess clients' issues, needs, circumstances, and risk at initial contact.
  • Assist clients in accessing support services and establishing community supports.
  • Mentor at-risk young people and facilitate group work sessions to enhance development of life and living skills and community engagement.

Requirements

  • A minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Community Services or relevant field (or willingness to achieve this).
  • Relevant experience in a social service environment.
  • Relevant experience in facilitation of group work.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Drivers Licence.
  • First Aid.
  • A willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
