Salary: This role comes with an estimated salary of $47.47 per hour, under the SCHADS award, plus a regional allowance of $10.12 per hour, and superannuation benefits.
About the Role: As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital part in creating a safe and respectful home environment for young people, assisting them to take responsibility and make healthy life choices. You will facilitate activities and support young people to achieve their goals, developed in their strengths-based daily personalized program, and bail conditions whilst in the residential services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Activities: Design and implement pro-social activities that promote healthy lifestyle choices and recreational experiences for young people.
- Support Young People: Provide non-judgmental and compassionate support to young people, helping them to achieve their goals and bail conditions.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Work within Bail Practice Manual and HOPE policy to ensure a safe environment for young people residing in the service and for co-workers.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and work collaboratively with colleagues to provide holistic support to young people.
- Reporting Incidents: Report incidents as required by HOPE and funding body, within contractual timeframes.
Requirements:
- Certificate III: Possess a minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Youth Work, AOD or similar qualification, or relevant level of experience (minimum 1 year in a similar role).
- Experience: Have experience in delivering services (programs) to young people, including group or one-to-one settings.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with young people, and understand Aboriginal culture.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Be proficient in using Microsoft office programs and Client Management Systems for reporting and record-keeping.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Showcase strong problem-solving skills to manage difficult situations.
- Other Requirements: Hold a current C or A class driver's license, First Aid Certificate, and be willing to undergo a National Police check, Australian residency/visa verification, and Department of Justice identification verification prior to appointment.
