The Role

We are seeking a pragmatic and commercially-minded Legal Counsel to join our team in Sydney. As the Legal Counsel, you will report to the General Counsel and support our business by reviewing and negotiating contracts with customers and suppliers.

You will collaborate closely with the Chief Customer Officer and Customer Team to ensure effective outcomes in sales negotiations, and provide occasional legal support to the wider business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing contracts and interpreting their legal requirements and risks for the business
  • Negotiating terms with customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with policies and directives
  • Implementing customer and supplier engagement processes within the Customer Team to support business growth objectives
  • Collaborating with the Chief Customer Officer to drive continuous improvement in the Customer Team's effectiveness
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal team
  • Strong commercial drafting, reviewing, and negotiating skills
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
