Operations Manager Job Description

The Operations Manager plays a vital role in driving the financial and operational performance of our self-storage centres. Reporting to the Queensland State Manager, this full-time permanent role involves leading multiple centres across Brisbane.

As an exceptional leader, you will be responsible for motivating and managing an effective Centre team to achieve optimal sales objectives, customer service levels, and set business targets. Your key focus will be on ensuring the operations side of the business is highly effective, with a safe and happy working environment and compliance with company policy and procedure.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage an effective Centre team to achieve optimal sales objectives, customer service levels, and set business objectives.
  • Overall responsibility for achieving financial budgets and profitability of all Centres in your operational area.
  • Ensure your Centres are achieving across financial performance metrics, including sales and KPI targets.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to continually develop Centre teams.
  • Oversee and ensure effective resourcing and recruitment of all Centre teams.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to Management on Centre activities and performance.
  • Ensure all Centres are compliant with Work Health & Safety regulations and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

This role requires strong leadership and people management skills, as well as a deep understanding of how to build and maintain a great team culture. Key responsibilities include:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a proven track record of building and maintaining high-performing teams.
  • Minimum 2 years' demonstrated success in an Operational/Area Management role in a medium-large organisation or similar.
  • Previous experience in the recruitment and development of sales people.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to analyze complex financials and develop effective reports.
  • Ability to effectively coach and mentor team members, with a sound understanding of best practice performance management.
  • The ability to build trusting and authentic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
  • High level of organisational skills with the ability to self-manage time and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of Work Health & Safety regulations.
