The County Court of Victoria is a premier judicial institution established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction, serving as the principal trial court in the State of Victoria.
The Court hears over 12,000 cases annually, encompassing criminal, common law, and commercial matters. With unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial cases, the Court plays a vital role in upholding justice.
A total of 80 Judges and over 300 staff, including judicial support personnel, comprise the Court's workforce. Regular circuit sittings are conducted at 12 circuit courts situated throughout regional Victoria.

Job OverviewThis role is instrumental in supporting our mission to deliver exceptional justice services. Reporting directly to the Manager of Law Reform and Policy, you will play a crucial role within our Governance, People, Policy, and Communications Team.
Key stakeholders for this position include government agencies, non-government organizations, the judiciary, court staff, and the public. Your contributions will directly influence legislative reforms and the Court's strategic directions, enhancing our ability to administer justice effectively.
Responsibilities- Craft detailed summaries and draft influential submissions to inform legislative reforms and strategic decisions.
- Provide expert legal advice to support the Court's operations and governance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Tertiary qualification in law is mandatory.
- Experience in legal practice is not strictly required but is highly regarded.
- Exposure to legal analysis, particularly in statutory interpretation and government decision-making processes, is advantageous.
