Disability Justice Specialist

The Disability Justice Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting individuals with disabilities navigating the criminal justice system. They assess and coordinate forensic disability services, identifying areas of need and advocating for appropriate support through universal systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating support and services for clients involved in the justice system, providing a comprehensive approach to reducing reoffending risk.
- Conducting complex assessments, implementing and reviewing justice-based plans, and ensuring timely referrals.
- Representing the organization at court hearings and tribunals, exercising delegated authorities and upholding departmental standards.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Strong report writing, assessment, and planning skills, with experience in disability case management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, fostering effective communication and coordination.
- Knowledge of the NDIS and its application in forensic settings, with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving policies.
