Job Title: Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced project manager to join a federal government agency.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination: Assist in project management and coordination activities, including monitoring progress against project plans, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring deliverables meet requirements.
Project Planning: Develop and manage project plans and schedules in line with the agency's frameworks, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
Research and Analysis: Undertake research, data analysis, and contribute to the preparation of reports, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Communication and Stakeholder Management: Provide advice, procedural guidance, and technical expertise in specific areas of project work, communicating effectively with team members, stakeholders, and senior management.
Documentation and Reporting: Draft a range of written materials, including business cases, briefs, and corporate documentation, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to agency standards.
Budgeting and Procurement:
Monitor budgets, review expenditure, and support procurement and contract management, ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures.
Quality Management: Contribute to project quality management to ensure deliverables are fit for purpose, meeting customer and stakeholder expectations.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to achieve outcomes, fostering a culture of open communication, respect, and trust.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, build strong relationships, and negotiate effectively.
Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly, make informed decisions, and provide actionable recommendations.
Presentation and Reporting Skills: Experience presenting and reporting on key metrics, with the ability to communicate complex information simply and effectively.
Priority Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure, with minimal supervision.
Microsoft 365 Skills: Well-developed Microsoft 365 skills, with experience using various tools, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, to support project delivery.
Agile Methodology: Strong knowledge of Agile project management methodology, with experience applying its principles and practices to drive project success.
Judgement and Decision-Making: Ability to apply judgement and make evidence-informed decisions, balancing competing priorities and managing risk effectively.
