AkzoNobel, a global paints and coatings company, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Sales Development Manager to join our team in Melbourne. With a portfolio of trusted brands, including International, Sikkens, and Interpon, we're active in over 100 countries and dedicated to providing sustainable solutions.
Our Opportunity
We offer a competitive salary package of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, plus performance bonuses. As a Senior Sales Development Manager, you'll be responsible for driving sales growth of our Protective Coatings brand in the Melbourne Metro area and East Victoria.
Your Role
- Maintain a deep understanding of the Marine and Protective Coatings industry, analyzing customer needs and trends.
- Cultivate new and existing customer relationships, identifying new projects and emerging users of our products.
- Provide technical service and problem-solving to customers, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to develop sales plans and budget forecasts.
- Visit customer sites to assess requirements and negotiate sales.
- Oversee product pricing and contribute to business growth.
- Actively engage in sales meetings, forecasting, and planning.
- Attend conferences and training sessions to enhance your skills.
- Follow up on late payments and work with the credit team.
- Participate in local industry events and conferences.
- Maintain close contact with the MPC sales force to secure sales opportunities.

About You
- Proven experience in sales, preferably within the coatings or related industry.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Understanding of blast preparation of steel substrates and paint application.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems, MS Office, and computer technology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of personal organisation and attention to detail.
- Degree or Diploma in Science or Engineering (desirable).
- ACA Inspection Certificate or NACE CIP to Level 2 (desirable).
- Valid Driver's Licence required.
