Job Opportunity:

Southern Cross University: Digital Collections Specialist

Drive digital innovation in higher education by maintaining and optimizing systems and digital tools.

This is a full-time, continuing opportunity based at one of our beautiful campuses (Gold Coast, Lismore or Coffs Harbour) with a competitive salary range from $92,716 - $101,691 per annum.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the library team, supporting a wide range of users while contributing to projects that improve the digital library experience.

  • Coordinate and support systems such as Alma, Primo VE, Esploro, and the Library website.
  • Administer the Library's digital content services and resource discovery systems, including the Library's website, research outputs repository and integrations with third-party applications.
  • Provide user-focused advice and support to stakeholders and vendors.
  • Contribute to system testing and implementation of new technologies and tools.
  • Identify, develop, implement and evaluate innovative digital services, technologies and workflows, with an emphasis on user experience, best practice, and accessibility.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification at degree level or above, with experience in academic libraries or with digital systems highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the application and management of systems within the academic library context, e.g. resource discovery, metadata and accessibility standards.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver practical solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Enthusiasm for improving digital experiences in a library setting.
