About the role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates, designs, and technical documentation for switchboard projects.

\

This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in electrical design and project management to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities include:

\
  1. Analysing drawings, plans, and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates;\
  2. Designing switchboards based on client specifications, adhering to AS/NZS 61439.2: 2016 for Low-Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies;\
  3. Creating standard switchboard drawings, including general arrangements, single line diagrams, and bills of materials using AutoCAD and other design tools;\
  4. Compiling and submitting tenders accurately and in alignment with both customer and company requirements;\
  5. Producing technical documentation such as construction drawings, material take-offs, product data sheets, and other essential documents;\
  6. Offering exceptional customer support and working closely with the sales team to achieve successful project outcomes;\
  7. Providing guidance and support to the project delivery team, ensuring smooth execution of designs into production;\
  8. Staying up-to-date with industry standards and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

Required Skills and Qualifications

\

To be successful in this role, you will need:

\
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;\
  • Certifications in Electrical Design;\
  • Proven experience designing Main Distribution Systems and Switchboards;\
  • Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and Service & Installation Rules for various states;\
  • Proficient in using design tools such as AutoCAD and other related software;\
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills — you'll need to liaise with both internal teams and external clients regularly;\
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in switchboard design and tendering.
