Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced switchboard estimator to join our team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tenders and bids for projects of all sizes, designing switchboards based on client specifications, and providing exceptional customer support.

About the Role:

  • Analyzing drawings, plans, and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Designing switchboards adhering to AS/NZS 3016 for Low-Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies.
  • Creating standard switchboard drawings using AutoCAD and other design tools.
  • Compiling and submitting tenders accurately.
  • Producing technical documentation such as construction drawings and material take-offs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Tender Preparation: Preparing accurate and detailed tenders for commercial and residential projects.
  • Switchboard Design: Designing switchboards that meet client specifications and comply with industry standards.
  • Customer Support: Providing exceptional customer support and working closely with the sales team to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Technical Documentation: Producing high-quality technical documentation including construction drawings and material take-offs.
Requirements:

A genuine team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a knack for thinking on your feet in fast-paced situations. Proven experience designing Main Distribution Systems and Switchboards. Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and Service & Installation Rules for various states. Proficient in using design tools such as AutoCAD and other related software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills — you'll need to liaise with both internal teams and external clients regularly. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in switchboard design and tendering. Full Australian working rights
