Switchboard Design and Project Management Opportunity

About the role:
As a key team member, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates, designs, and technical documentation for switchboard projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in electrical design and project management to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Analysing drawings, plans, and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates;
  2. Designing switchboards based on client specifications, adhering to AS/NZS 61439.2: 2016 for Low-Voltage Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies;
  3. Creating standard switchboard drawings, including general arrangements, single line diagrams, and bills of materials using AutoCAD and other design tools;
  4. Compiling and submitting tenders accurately and in alignment with customer requirements;
  5. Producing technical documentation such as construction drawings, material take-offs, product data sheets, and other essential documents;
  6. Offering exceptional customer support and working closely with the sales team to achieve successful project outcomes;
  7. Providing guidance and support to the project delivery team, ensuring smooth execution of designs into production;

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;
  2. Certifications in Electrical Design;
  3. Proven experience designing Main Distribution Systems and Switchboards;
  4. Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and Service & Installation Rules for various states;
  5. Proficient in using design tools such as AutoCAD and other related software;
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills — you'll need to liaise with both internal teams and external clients regularly;
  7. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in switchboard design and tendering.
