Job Description

Our organization is seeking a strategic thinker to coordinate, distill and communicate Corporate Affairs priorities and key deliverables to the function and broader business.

The position will work directly with senior stakeholders to ensure an aligned and proactive focus on key public policy developments and emerging stakeholder / reputation issues of importance to our organization.

The Advocacy and Positioning remit covers global issues mapping and is responsible for developing and executing group-level advocacy campaigns designed to deliver business priorities.

This role manages, coordinates and integrates public opinion research data to inform public positions and works closely with the global media team.

The Advocacy and Positioning Manager leads industry association participation to align with and inform evolving business priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development and execution of CA advocacy plans that include key deliverables and issues under management to be shared with executives.
  • Work closely with Canberra and climate & policy teams to ensure our organization's public policy priorities are translated into plans to influence and communicate on these issues.
  • Develop a strategic approach to our media engagement that aligns with company priorities and seeks to influence key issues affecting the business.
  • Coordinate our industry association participation and involvement in policy institutes / think tanks, ensuring alignment with evolving business priorities.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to increase our external networks in key jurisdictions.
Requirements

Tertiary qualification in political science, journalism, communications, commerce, legal or related fields.

Deep knowledge of International Corporate Affairs practices, standards and thinking.

Knowledge of political systems and public policy development, advocacy and media.

Strong knowledge of stakeholder engagement frameworks.

Demonstrated experience advising on complex government, communications, brand, reputation and stakeholder engagement issues.

Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement and reputation issues (local and global) that interface with our organization's business.

Proven experience developing business plans and strategies covering government relations, communications and issue management.
