Key Position Summary

This is a key role within our organisation, contributing to our mission and vision by developing and maintaining strategic communications and engagement activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • SUPPORT THE ESTABLISHMENT AND ORGANISATIONAL READINESS OF OUR INSPECTORIAL UNIT.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including local governments, peak sector bodies, community groups, and regulatory agencies to build relationships and trust.
  • Develop strategic communications and engagement initiatives to raise awareness of the Inspectorate's role in complaint assessment, compliance monitoring, investigations, and early intervention.
  • Manage public and media relations on behalf of the Inspector, including statement preparation, responses, speeches, briefings, and issues management protocols.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate digital communications and social media strategies across online platforms aligned with strategic priorities and communication strategies.
  • Work closely with senior departmental officers and Inspectorate officers to ensure communications align with regulatory objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of Inspectorate media and communication strategies and policies that have a public or stakeholder interface.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field would be an advantage.
  • A valid Western Australian C or C-A class drivers' licence or equivalent.
