Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Leader to join our team at the State Government of Victoria, Australia. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement culturally responsive education programs that meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Lead the development and delivery of a strength-based cultural program in collaboration with students, their families, and relevant community members and organisations.
- Provide expert advice to leadership on supporting the educational outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students within a complex setting.
- Facilitate outreach and culturally safe engagement with students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Manage program budgets and financial expenditure within College and DE guidelines.
- Manage approval processes between Parkville College and Department of Justice and Community Safety, according to the site-based requirements.
- Manage work priorities & schedule, to support an effective Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.
- Experience in developing and implementing culturally responsive education programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
