Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Specialist

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Worker plays a vital role in engaging and developing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who face significant barriers to accessing services.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in assertive street outreach activities to connect with clients and provide support.
- Act as an advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, particularly those who are homeless and/or have complex health and social wellness needs.
- Provide harm reduction education, advocacy, referral, and support services to clients to promote safer use and disposal of injecting equipment.
- Link individuals into appropriate ongoing community services, including culturally specific, mental health, social support, and health services.
