Position Overview: Our esteemed medical client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Receptionist to join their team. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with a background in medical administration, although prior experience in a medical setting is not mandatory. Exceptional customer service skills and a solid foundation in administrative duties are essential for consideration.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patients, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Handle inquiries related to administrative and health-related matters with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Provide support to administrative and nursing staff as required.
  • Assist in onboarding new administrative personnel as necessary.
  • Ensure that all office documentation is accurately completed and maintained.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding patient and practice information, refraining from discussing sensitive matters outside of authorized personnel.
  • Offer backup support to fellow administrative staff to guarantee seamless client service.
  • Manage all telephone and document communications in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Participate in the assessment and enhancement of personal and professional development.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and external lectures as provided by the practice.
  • Maintain comprehensive training records.

Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, particularly in handling sensitive inquiries both in person and over the phone.
  • Proven track record in administrative roles.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred, especially within a surgical practice.
  • Proficient in adapting to new systems, with experience in Microsoft Office and other computerized processing tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse individuals empathetically.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in processing patient payments and managing claims submissions.
  • Knowledge of scheduling patients for surgical procedures and providing necessary preparatory information.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player focused on achieving collective goals.
