Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of all tax obligations, while overseeing both Direct and Indirect Taxes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tax provisioning and compliance reporting processes, ensuring adherence to statutory deadlines and accuracy in reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the business's tax position while minimizing risk.
  • Stay informed of legislative changes and evaluate their impact on the business, ensuring continued compliance with Australian tax laws.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across all levels, providing guidance on tax compliance-related matters, and manage external relationships with tax advisers and auditors.
  • Oversee and manage international tax compliance obligations, including transfer pricing documentation, country-by-country reporting, and the implementation of global tax initiatives.
  • Ensure strong internal controls are maintained for all tax compliance processes, in line with internal policies, audit requirements, and risk management frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the use of technology solutions such as AI and data analytics to streamline tax compliance processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of Australian Tax Compliance experience in a Big Four or mid-tier firm, or in an equivalent in-house tax compliance role, with experience ideally across a range of Direct and Indirect Taxes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Law. CPA/CA, CTA, or a Master of Taxation qualification is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws, with expertise in tax compliance and tax effect accounting.
  • Proven experience in managing tax compliance processes, including international tax matters such as transfer pricing.
  • Demonstrated ability to test and maintain internal control processes focused on compliance and risk management.
  • Proficiency in SAP (preferred) and advanced Excel skills, with the ability to work with and analyze large volumes of complex data.
