Job Title

A Dispensary Pharmacist position has become available at a prominent maternity hospital retail pharmacy. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the dispensary, providing excellent customer service and contributing to the overall success of the business.

About You
  • You must be a registered pharmacist with strong knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) and Australian working rights.
  • You should possess excellent communication and time management skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and multitask.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. To dispense and supply medications and pharmacy products effectively and efficiently.
  2. To coordinate medication requirements for patients, including discharges and outpatient needs.
  3. To provide exceptional customer service to patients, carers, and hospital staff.
  4. To attend to front-of-shop duties and support the day-to-day operations of the dispensary.
  5. To educate customers on medication use, health promotion, and general pharmacy queries.
  6. To support patients, carers, hospital staff, and associated employees.
  7. To educate and advise staff and customers on health promotion, disease prevention, drug selection, and the proper use of medicines.
  8. To prepare and package medications in dosage as necessary.
  9. To participate in other dispensary duties as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A strong understanding of the PBS and Australian working rights.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously and multitask.
