About the Opportunity

The Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to ensure the delivery of evidence-based, strengths-focused, recovery-oriented assessment and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry a clinical caseload, appropriate to the needs of the service.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to ensure the delivery of evidence-based, strengths-focused, recovery-oriented assessment and treatment.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that address the complex needs of consumers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care and support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Psychologist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience providing advanced evidence-based, strengths-focused, recovery-oriented assessment and treatment for consumers of the mental health service.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and practice of consumer's families and natural supports participating within the treatment process, as appropriate and in accordance with the NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership and clinical supervision, within a multi-disciplinary treatment setting.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and personal resilience.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  • Ability to work independently and in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.
