Job Title

A Workforce Compliance Specialist is required to drive policies and processes that support compliance in a complex workplace relations landscape.

This role ensures adherence to modern awards, enterprise agreements, legislative requirements, and organizational policies.

The Workforce Compliance Specialist will interpret and translate industrial instruments, understand HR data, and payroll systems to maintain the integrity of our payroll systems and ensure exceptional service delivery across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with national and state employment laws, modern awards, and enterprise agreements including the Fair Work legislation.
  2. Provide authoritative advice and interpretation on legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreements to ensure compliance and best practice application.
  3. Calculate and advise on casual rates of pay and entitlements for employees.
  4. Set up and maintain payroll conditions, rates of pay, and entitlements in the payroll system.
  5. Evaluate and enhance payroll processes to maintain data integrity.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide compliance guidance on candidate placements, contracts, and onboarding.
  7. Act as a point of contact for workforce compliance-related queries from internal teams and key stakeholders ensuring timely and accurate advisory services in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  8. Support audits and liaise with regulatory bodies as required.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Law, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in payroll compliance, governance, or a related field.
  3. Extensive knowledge of complex modern awards and enterprise agreements.
  4. Proficiency in payroll systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  5. Strong understanding of national employment laws and industry compliance requirements.
  6. High attention to detail.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex compliance challenges.
  8. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
