Job Title: Return to Work Injury and Claims Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Return to Work Injury and Claims Specialist to join our team in Adelaide. This is a permanent position that offers flexibility to work from home 2 days a week once fully trained in the role.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality injury management, return to work, and claims management services that drive early and safe return to work outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of workers and employers to identify and proactively address biopsychosocial barriers with treating teams.
  • Provide education and information on return to work processes, legislative requirements, premium impact, initial claims decisions, and health benefits of safe work.
  • Coordinate and lead worksite meetings with workers and employers to resolve or procure tailored services that address identified barriers.
  • Proactively engage and partner with treating teams to drive worker capacity for work in line with progress, recovery timeframes, and suitable duties.
  • Make timely decisions and approvals within legislative requirements and delegations while monitoring and managing overall claims costs to ensure cost-effectiveness.
About You
  • You must be registered with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Occupational Health Nurse and maintain your registration.
  • Prior experience in clinical roles or injury management fields educating workers and employers on health benefits of safe work is essential.
  • A sound working knowledge and understanding of work injury insurance are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to build trust, engage, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders.
  • You must have strong conflict resolution skills and ability to make decisions.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and contribution to evolving programs of work are essential.
  • You should be able to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • A current driver's licence is also required.
