High-Performance Director

The NSW Government is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of High-Performance Director. This role is responsible for leading the development, design, and delivery of nationally aligned high-performance sport programs.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful programs in a sport or institute program, demonstrating a strong knowledge of the demands and pressure of elite athletes and coaches.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Elite Sports Performance will have the following key responsibilities:
- Lead and foster a high-performance team culture that is professional, respectful, and supportive.
- Direct NSWIS sport programs with multidisciplinary performance teams that are athlete performance focused, aligned nationally and locally, and meet high standards of quality and safety.
- Prioritize budget, operations, coaching, and athlete support services to achieve high-performance outcomes for each sport program.
The ideal candidate will have extensive senior-level experience in high-performance sport management and leadership, demonstrated experience in strategic planning and systems management, and an advanced understanding of athlete support areas.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A relevant degree qualification (Arts, Business, or Sciences undergraduate degree) or similar.
- Extensive senior-level experience in high-performance sport management and leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and systems management.
- An advanced understanding of athlete support areas, including coaching, sports science, sports medicine, sports technology/data science, athlete wellbeing, and engagement.
