About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at the Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre as a Support Officer. As a customer-focused individual, you will be responsible for providing a welcoming environment to visitors, artists, and contractors.



Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and interact with visitors in a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Assist with front-of-house duties, including ticketing and reception.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks, such as setting up and packing down for events and catering.
  • Maintain the appearance of the multipurpose venue and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in fire warden or first aid officer duties, with training provided.


Requirements

  • Certificate III in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Suitable experience in an arts environment or a demonstrable interest in the arts industry.
  • High-level communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Commitment to customer service and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Working with Children Check.


What We Offer

As a casual employee of Blacktown City Council, you will receive an hourly rate of $37.6026 (Grade 6, entry level) plus 25% casual loading and access to employee benefits, including leave entitlements, superannuation contributions, and social clubs.
