Role Objective: We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to support the repair and maintenance of equipment delivered to our Service Centre and in various operational settings.

Benefits:

  1. Monday - Thursday: 6am - 2.30pm
  2. Friday: 6am - 12pm
  3. Opportunity for weekly overtime
  4. All necessary uniforms, tools, and PPE provided

Key Duties:
  1. Disassembling, repairing, and documenting issues with pumps at our Service Centre.
  2. Ensuring all products are maintained and repaired according to the Service Centre Quality Manual.
  3. Proposing enhancements to existing products, services, and operational procedures.
  4. Actively participating in the implementation of the Weir Production System at the Rebuild Centre.
  5. Conducting site visits during shutdowns to provide additional assistance, including disassembly, repair, and reporting on customer pumps.
  6. Occasionally performing repairs at customer locations.
  7. Willingness to travel to customer sites, including periods away from home.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning.
  2. Proven experience in mechanical fitting within workshop and field environments.
  3. Experience in leading and mentoring a team of fitters.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. High-risk forklift license is mandatory.
  6. Overhead crane and dogging certification is highly preferred.
  7. Valid driver's license.
