About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician or Maintenance Fitter to join our busy Cotton Ginning operations in Queensland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our ginning equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Optimize Gin Performance: Monitor production, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues to improve Gin productivity.
  2. Preventative Maintenance: Carry out necessary repairs and maintenance per the agreed schedule to minimize downtime.
  3. Equipment Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve breakdowns of ginning equipment promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
  4. Inventory Management: Review parts inventory and ensure that all necessary equipment is available.
  5. Hygiene and Safety: Maintain good plant hygiene and support general maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment.

About You

To be considered for this position, you will need to have:

  1. A mechanical trade qualification and certificate.
  2. Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, ideally in cotton ginning.
  3. Previous maintenance and mechanical experience.
  4. Exposure to managing a diverse team or shift in a remote or isolated environment.
  5. Reasonable computer skills, high levels of literacy to understand safety instructions and good communication skills to work effectively as part of a team.
  6. Understanding of hydraulic systems.
  7. Knowledge of Australia's work Health and Safety requirements is ideal.
  8. Fitness to be able to manage long shifts during the season.
  9. Great work ethic, eager to learn and able to think on your feet to troubleshoot.
  10. Respectful and able to interact with people from diverse cultures.
  11. Valid driver license.

What We Offer

The annual salary package of $73,150 - $80,000 + super is on offer for the right candidate.
