We are seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Assistant to support our transportation department. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, including trucking routes and driver assignments, to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transportation operations, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, and fuel usage, to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare and distribute transportation documents, such as bills of lading and delivery schedules, to facilitate seamless communication and processing.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and other team members to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods, and to address any transportation-related issues that may arise.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure they are delivered on time and meet customer requirements, and to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist in resolving transportation-related issues, such as delays, route changes, and equipment malfunctions, to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of transportation safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a transportation or logistics role preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and other team members.
  • Proficient in using transportation software and applications.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
  • Valid driver's license.
