Generalist Human Resources Specialist

The role of a Generalist Human Resources Specialist is to provide comprehensive support and services in the areas of human resources, employee relations, engagement, and foundational HR tasks. This specialist will work closely with management to develop and implement policies, programs, and practices that enhance the organisation's human resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance the organisation's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.
  • Provide high-quality advice and service to management focusing on employee relations, engagement and foundational HR tasks.
  • Support employee attraction and retention activities and special projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll related enquiries.
  • Deliver regular HR metrics and reporting.
  • Manage Workers Compensation, injury and return to work plans.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the organisation by ensuring safe work practices.
  • Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices and safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years' experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Payroll preparation skills.
  • Award interpretation experience preferred.
  • HRIS experience such as Workday or similar.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business studies or equivalent.
