Regional Purchasing Manager Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Regional Purchasing Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing and contract management strategies for regionally sourced goods and services.

This role focuses on minimising total cost of ownership, improving service quality, and enhancing supplier performance by working closely with operational and technical stakeholders in the Eastern Region of our business (NSW & ACT).

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Develop and implement regional procurement strategies for the Eastern Region, ensuring alignment with national and global procurement strategies and agreements.
  • Sourcing and Contract Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities for regionally sourced goods and services, initiate, develop, and negotiate supplier agreements, and oversee supplier performance, quality, customer support, and price management.
  • Market Analysis and Category Knowledge: Analyse market trends and develop category knowledge to inform procurement decisions.
  • Procurement Projects and Supplier Relationships: Manage strategic procurement projects with a cross-functional impact, build new supplier relationships, and develop alternative sources and solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Procurement or Operations in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management: Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis and Decision-Making: Strong proficiency in data analysis, market benchmarking, and decision-making.
  • ERP/Procurement Systems: Familiarity with ERP/procurement systems, such as SAP or Ariba.
