About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Hydrogeologist to join our team in Townsville. As a key member of our Hydrology & Hydrogeology discipline, you will be responsible for undertaking routine integrated monitoring programs, performing field studies, and preparing quality factual reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake routine integrated monitoring programs, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling, while following SLR procedures and industry best practice.
  • Perform field studies, including hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
  • Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for or provided by clients.
  • Liaise with site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to support the smooth delivery of field work.

Requirements:

  • Either a completed short course in hydrogeology or University qualifications (Bachelor Degree or higher) in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
  • Some practical experience in the field of hydrogeology, with demonstrated skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects.
  • Australian citizenship/working rights are essential.
