Job Title: Hydrogeology Field Specialist

About the Role

SLR Consulting is a leading international environmental consultancy that provides high-quality services to a diverse range of clients. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hydrogeology Field Specialist to join our team in Townsville.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake routine integrated monitoring programs, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling, while adhering to SLR procedures and industry best practices.
  • Perform field studies, including hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
  • Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for or provided by clients.
  • Prepare Health and Safety documentation for field work.
  • Liaise with site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to ensure the smooth delivery of field work.

Requirements

  • A completed short course in hydrogeology or University qualifications (Bachelor Degree or higher) in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
  • Practical experience in the field of hydrogeology, with demonstrated skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects, often up to a week at a time.
  • Manual driver's license and previous 4WD experience and training is highly desirable.
  • Australian citizenship/working rights are essential.
