Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hydrogeology Field Technician to join our team at Geoscience Ireland. As a Hydrogeology Field Technician, you will be responsible for conducting field studies, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine integrated monitoring programs, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling, while following industry best practices and company procedures.
  • Perform field studies, including hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
  • Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for or provided by clients.
  • Liaise with site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to support the smooth delivery of field work.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Either have completed a short course in hydrogeology or University qualifications (Bachelor Degree or higher) in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
  • Some practical experience in the field of hydrogeology, with demonstrated skills in the areas of groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects.
  • Manual driver's license and previous 4WD experience and training is highly desirable.
  • Australian citizenship/working rights are essential.
