Hydrogeology Field Specialist Opportunity

SLR Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Hydrogeology Field Specialist to join our team in Townsville. As a key member of our Hydrology & Hydrogeology discipline, you will be responsible for conducting field studies, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling, while adhering to SLR procedures and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of hydrogeology, with experience in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing. A working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine integrated monitoring programs, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling

• Perform field studies, such as hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing

• Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for or provided by clients

• Liaise with site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to support the smooth delivery of field work

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree or higher in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field

• Practical experience in hydrogeology, with demonstrated skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing

• Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines

• Excellent communication and reporting skills

• Willingness to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects

• Manual driver's licence and previous 4WD experience and training is highly desirable

Australian citizenship/working rights are essential.
