About the Role

At SLR, we are seeking a skilled Junior Hydrogeologist / Field Technician to join our team in Townsville. As a key member of our Hydrology & Hydrogeology discipline, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and develop your career in the field of groundwater monitoring and sampling.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct routine integrated monitoring programs, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling, while adhering to SLR procedures and industry best practices.
  2. Perform field studies, such as hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
  3. Participate in UAV (drone) surveys and prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for clients.
  4. Prepare Health and Safety documentation for field work and liaise with site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to ensure smooth project delivery.

Requirements

  1. Either a short course in hydrogeology or a University qualification (Bachelor Degree or higher) in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
  2. Practical experience in hydrogeology, with demonstrated skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing.
  3. Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines.
  4. Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation.
  5. Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  6. Manual driver's license and previous 4WD experience and training.
  7. Australian citizenship/working rights.
