Family Carer Workforce Member

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Family Carer workforce member to join our Tribunal Advisory Group (TAG). The TAG provides opportunities for lived and living experience consumers and family, carers and supporters to shape and participate in the Tribunal's work.

  • Contribute to shaping the Tribunal's work and activities
  • Advise and assist the Tribunal to maximise opportunities for consumer and carer engagement and participation
  • Provide expert advice on consumer and carer related issues
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing strategic and business plans to support the Tribunal's objectives
  • Providing professional advice to the Governance Group on documents, projects or other matters
  • Identifying consumer and carer related issues and providing recommendations
  • Promoting and facilitating consumer and carer participation activities at the Tribunal
Membership

The members of the TAG will be selected based on individual ability to contribute to the purpose of the TAG as outlined in the Terms of Reference.

Composition

The TAG consists of 11 members or more, comprising:

  • 2 lived and living experience consumers working at public mental services in designated roles
  • 2 family and/or carers working at public mental services in designated carer roles
  • 2 consumers with recent or current lived and living experience
  • 2 family and/or carers with recent or current lived experience
  • A senior member of the Tribunal
  • Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The first four categories of member are known collectively as TAG community members. TAG community members will have recent lived experience of mental ill health as consumers and/or family, carers and supporters.
