Senior Associate or Special Counsel

This is a career opportunity for defendant personal injury insurance lawyers with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience.

About the Role:

A challenging and rewarding position has arisen for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to work alongside Stuart Eustice in Melbourne. You will be working across a range of litigation matters, representing major Australian insurers in the areas of personal injury and general liability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Defend personal injury claims and general liability matters on behalf of clients;
  • Provide strategic legal advice and develop effective defence strategies;
  • Manage high volumes of matters, ensuring timely resolution and cost-effective outcomes;
  • Conduct litigation, including drafting legal documents, appearing in court, and engaging in settlement negotiations;
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers, providing guidance and support to develop their skills; and
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions to complex insurance matters.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a reputable defendant insurance practice specialising in personal injury and general liability. You will have a proven ability to handle a high volume of claims, possess excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong client management and relationship-building skills, as well as experience in mentoring and supervising junior lawyers.
