We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team. This rewarding role will allow you to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independently and achieve their goals.

About the Role

As a Support Specialist, you will provide companionship, emotional support, and assist with daily living tasks. You will work closely with participants to develop individualized plans, focusing on enhancing social skills, independent living skills, and goal achievement. Your role will also involve assisting with budgeting, transportation, and employment-based goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist participants with learning essential life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care.
  • Help participants make informed decisions about sustaining current supports and developing new goals.
  • Encourage personal growth and goal achievement through hands-on capacity building.
  • Work with participants to identify goals and set action plans, including assistance with budgeting and money handling skills.
  • Liaise with Disability Employment Support providers to explore job opportunities and provide goal-specific employment support.
  • Safely transport participants to relevant areas, including public transport and license skills.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Certificate III or above in Community Services and Individual Support or relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to build individual capacity and learn new skills, with a focus on adaptability and flexibility.
  • Full driver's license and willingness to obtain necessary clearances (WWCC, NDISWC, and police check).
  • Epilepsy Training and advanced computer skills.
