Support Worker Role

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Support Worker to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives.

The Supported Independent Living homes we provide offer a vibrant community where residents can thrive. Our flexible support services cater to the evolving needs of our residents, enabling them to reach their full potential.

You will be responsible for fostering growth and development through a positive, strengths-based approach. This may involve guiding residents to participate in various activities, promoting social interaction, and helping them integrate into the community.

Your duties will include:

  • An Open-Minded Approach: You will be encouraged to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to support our residents.
  • Experience Supporting People with Disabilities: Extensive experience in supporting individuals with dual diagnosis is essential.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills and a collaborative team-based approach are necessary for success in this role.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including residents, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Emotional intelligence, resilience, and drive are crucial for working in isolation and adapting to changing situations.
  • Qualifications: A qualification in disability or community services is highly desirable.

To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check: A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain prior to employment) is mandatory.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate: An NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to employment) is also required.
  • National Police Check: A current National Police Check is necessary.
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Ideally, tertiary qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or a related discipline would be beneficial.
