The role of a Support Professional at CareRITE is to empower individuals living with mental illness to lead an independent life. This position plays a vital part in ensuring maximum opportunity for developing independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support in day-to-day living and develop routines that are meaningful and purposeful to the individual.
- Facilitate opportunities for choice and control, participation in matters relating to the home, and access to community services.
- Carry out positive behavioral support plans for individuals.
- Work as part of a team to achieve common goals.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assistance with daily living and personal care.
- Light domestic support and household tasks.
- Support with assistive technology and equipment.
- Accompanying individuals to appointments and grocery shopping.
- Providing assistance with personal care and medication prompting.
- Supporting community participation and social activities.
Requirements:
- Valid First Aid certification.
- CPR (annual).
- National Police Check (less than 12 months old).
- Ability to successfully obtain NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Australian Driver's License.
- Own reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
Preferred but not Essential:
- Manual handling training.
- Medication training.
- Industry experience or working with challenging behavior.
