About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will be one of the most influential people in your clients' life. Your role will be diverse and challenging, involving direct care for clients in various settings.

Your daily tasks can include:

  • Building relationships with the people you are caring for.
  • Providing 24/7 around-the-clock care to participants, following a structured routine developed specifically for their needs.
  • Administering medication.
  • Transporting clients to and from school, day programs, appointments, and Family Time visits.
  • Assisting in the implementation of programs designed for client development.
  • Reporting on client progress.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities

You will be working closely with clients to understand their needs and develop personalized plans to support their well-being. This may involve providing emotional support, assisting with daily living activities, and promoting social connections.

Caregiving Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent caregiving skills, including communication, empathy, and problem-solving abilities. You will also require relevant qualifications and certifications, such as First Aid and driver's licenses.

Requirements and Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a vehicle that can transport up to four people.
  • Have comprehensive car insurance.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Provide two professional references.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

A Diploma of Community Services or a related field would be an advantage in this role. Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is also desirable.
