Job Title: Senior Spatial GIS System Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Spatial GIS System Developer to join our team at EBR. As a key member of our GIS team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our Spatial GIS system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the Spatial GIS system 24/7
  • Develop and implement GIS solutions, including databases, REST APIs, and desktop and web applications
  • Mentor and coach team members to increase productivity and team outcomes
  • Prioritize assigned tasks to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and internal customers throughout development projects and system processes

Requirements:

  • Expert Python knowledge and experience developing GUIs using TkInter, PyQT, or similar
  • Extensive JavaScript/Node.js experience, including experience building REST APIs and SPWA
  • Experience with at least one statically typed programming language, such as C++, Go, C#, or Java
  • Solid RDBMS experience with MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle DB, or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with spatial databases, preferably PostGIS or Oracle Spatial
  • Advanced knowledge of desktop GIS applications, such as QGIS, ArcMAP, or MapInfo
  • Experience leading a team, particularly in an Agile or DevOps environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Front-end web development experience, including Ember, Angular, React, or Vue
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB
  • Experience developing mobile GIS applications
  • Experience developing QGIS plugins
