About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Spatial Data Engineer to join our team at EBR. As a key member of our GIS team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our Spatial GIS system.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Development: Design, develop, and implement new features and enhancements to our Spatial GIS system.
  • Data Management: Administer and maintain data update procedures, including SQL, ETL (Extract Transform Load), and Python.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to a small team of developers, technicians, administrators, and officers.
  • Project Management: Prioritize assigned tasks to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders and internal customers throughout development projects and system processes.
  • Reporting: Provide various reports and other duties as requested by management.
  • Technology Support: Provide support to new technology introductions and perform configuration of datasets into SQL database environments.
  • Code Review and Sprint Planning: Perform code reviews and participate in sprint planning as a technical supervisor.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualifications in IT, Maths, or a relevant field.
  • Data Management: Extensive knowledge of data management in SQL.
  • ETL Experience: Experience of developing ETL procedures.
  • GUI Development: Basic HTML and JavaScript for GUI development experience is desirable.
  • Visualization Tools: Ideally, some working experience with visualization tools.
