Job Opportunity: Site Ventilation Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Site Ventilation Engineer.

The role involves designing, implementing and maintaining effective underground ventilation systems to ensure safe, sustainable and regulatory-compliant working conditions. You will be responsible for developing sustainable and compliant ventilation designs, producing underground ventilation concepts, layouts and execution plans, conducting scenario planning and cost estimation, identifying and managing risks, conducting ventilation surveys and implementing testing areas, calibrating and maintaining ventilation instrumentation, updating ventilation network models using Ventsim or VUMA, and selecting appropriate ventilation equipment.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective ventilation strategies to improve air quality and reduce health risks.
  • Design and install ventilation systems that meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and testing of ventilation systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement in ventilation system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in ventilation engineering.
Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering or Mine Environmental Control.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a mining or tunneling environment.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in mine ventilation software (e.g., VUMA, Ventsim).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
