About Our Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to join our team in South Australia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking field-related installations, moves, additions, changes, maintenance, and repair support for the SAGRN network and related sub-components.
Supporting the community and emergency services by completing preventative and reactive maintenance on the South Australian Government Radio Network (SAGRN).
The SAGRN is one of the largest and most comprehensive public safety networks in the world, used by over 25 government and non-government agencies.
This permanent, full-time role includes on-call needs, a work vehicle, and required tools of the trade.
There is a high level of intrastate travel involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure all works are completed in a safe manner.
- Perform preventative and reactive tasks according to relevant work instructions and client Service Level Agreements.
- Assist in technical escalations with sub-contractors and other team members.
- Contribute to the development of documentation required for field-related activities.
- Manage and order equipment and materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A trade certificate with a background in telecommunications or electrical engineering.
- Ability to travel and work in remote locations, sometimes independently.
- Experience working within an emergency services environment and networks.
- Experience installing and maintaining VHF/UHF/P25 radio, paging, and/or microwave networks.
- Radio Frequency (RF) awareness certificate.
- A current Australian driver's licence.
- Industry Construction Card (White Card) / Working at Heights certificate.
- Ability to pass an in-clinic medical and a clean Police Check.
