A high-quality telecommunications professional is required to join our team on a casual basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and integrating wireless telecommunications equipment, as well as maintaining and repairing radio access nodes and core network transmission equipment.

  • Installation, commissioning, and integration of wireless telecommunications equipment (3G, 4G, and 5G technology).
  • Installation, commissioning, and integration of microwave transmission links.
  • Installation, commissioning, and integration of new power supply units (PSUs).
  • Installation of Ericsson and Nokia Airscale radio telecommunications equipment and cabling is preferred.
  • Swap-out, upgrade, and decommissioning of mobile telecommunications equipment.
  • Installation of range feeder RF cables and hybrids.
  • Terminating communication cables of various types and sizes, assisting with testing cables for compliance with specifications.
  • Maintaining and adhering to all policies, procedures, and appropriate documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical construction drawings and prepare acceptance documentation.
  • Working at heights certified, with the ability to comfortably operate at heights, previous climbing experience is essential.
  • Performing structural upgrades to telco infrastructure.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2+ years' experience as a telecommunications technician/rigger working on building new sites and upgrades.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of Nokia and Ericsson 3G, 4G, 5G equipment.
  • A current certificate in rigging (Basic, Advanced or Intermediate preferred).
  • Physical fitness to meet Fit to Climb Medical standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practice.
  • Familiarity with standard installation of telecommunications RAN equipment.
  • Solid knowledge of telecommunications rigging techniques and adherence to best practices.
  • Good communication skills.
