About this Role


We are seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our team at the Darwin RAAF Base in the Northern Territory.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Australian Defence environment and support the security requirements of the Nation.

  • Scoping mechanical and electrical work activities
  • Procurement of materials and creation of work packs
  • Management of maintenance documentation on Computerised Maintenance Management System
  • Coordination of contractors including obtaining quotes and documentation
  • Assisting maintenance technicians in field works
  • Support various sites in the region, with occasional travel to sites throughout NT
  • General administration and ad hoc duties as required

Key Responsibilities

This role involves working closely with a core crew of UGL technicians to deliver high quality outcomes for our customer. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Scoping work activities and creating work packs
  • Coordinating contractors and managing maintenance documentation
  • Providing administrative support and assisting maintenance technicians in the field
  • Traveling to various sites in the region, as required

The ideal candidate will have previous labouring or trade experience, particularly in mechanical trades. Experience with SAP-based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems is highly regarded. A safety-first approach to all work and the ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance are essential.
