The role of Assistant Project Manager offers a unique opportunity for junior project managers to take the next step in their careers and gain valuable experience working on various Defence and nuclear-related projects.

This position involves supporting Project Managers and Design Managers with project management tasks, delivery control, project audits, and overall project quality control.

You will also be involved in assisting with tender submissions, including drafting technical content, coordinating document production, and transmittal of documents.

This is an exciting chance to grow your skills while working with a team of industry specialists who can provide guidance and support.

About the Job

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of post-graduate project management experience working with/for the Department of Defence.

Tertiary qualifications in a related field, such as project management, construction management, engineering, or architecture, are also preferred.

We are looking for someone who wants to further develop their skills while building a long-term career with our Defence business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate proposal development activities with Sales and admin support staff
  • Prepare operational and market sector internal governance reporting
  • Support internal governance requirements for proposals and projects
  • Coordinate market sector business development activities
  • Plan, coordinate and support the conduct of internal and project workshops and other engagements
  • Assist the entire team with administrative duties, including timesheets, travel, accommodation, functions, catering, etc
  • Assist Project Managers & Design Managers with monitoring the project scope, including regular review of design documents and amendment of design documents to meet the client's project brief, budget etc
