Procurement Specialist
Job Overview:
As a key member of our procurement team, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities across various departments. This role requires a strong understanding of company policies and procedures to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the purchasing process for goods, materials, and services within established parameters.
- Ensure all procurements meet specified requirements in terms of quantity, quality, and delivery dates.
- Manage the weekly ordering cycle to guarantee timely placement of orders according to Port requirements.
- Prepare, approve, and enter purchase orders into our Airline Catering system.
- Verify that all ordered goods are delivered in accordance with purchase order due dates within our ERP system, addressing overdue orders and expediting as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with Port Managers to meet delivery and quality targets.
- Maintain accurate records and files for efficient operation.
- Perform additional duties as required by the Head of Procurement/Category Managers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Approximately 3 years of experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain environments within the food service/hospitality sector.
- Preferably with a background in the Food and Beverage industry.
- Experience in FMCG or Catering industries is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically EXCEL, WORD, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with an ERP system is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
- Tertiary education is highly desirable.
